thx

i went through her hair and found NOTHING
she said she hung around dogs with ticks lately
so i think it was just a tick

Lice is very small but very noticeable on the scalp. A thorough exam of the scalp by pulling the hair back will show any black specks that may be in her hair- especially check the back of the neck and above the ears. In order to have adult lice in her hair would mean that they have hatched from larvae, which are sticky small white nits (eggs) on the hair itself. My opinion would be if the two are present, she has lice. If she had it two weeks ago, and did not follow up with another treatment it's likely that the larvae were still present and are hatching into adults now. Over the counter doesn't always work, so a prescribed treatment through a doctor me be needed.

If she has lice- it's highly contagious- all bedding, clothing and personal items should not be shared. Anything that her head has touched should be laundered.

More info in the link below:

A tick is big. It sucks the blood from the host and its belly grows larger as it feeds more. Its a parasite that will not let go of the skin it's attached to easily. So, that is very unlikely.

Hope this helped!

talk to the doc....lol that rhymes

It may be head lice. You can pull them out but that won't get rid of them. You need to get a special shampoo like RID at the drug store. They are contagious so make sure you clean and disinfect your bedding.

That is lice

if she had lice it would be more than just one. yes you can pull ONE out but it be hundreds of them and there eggs. lice can be spreaded if you use the same comb or brush. and you might want to wash your sheets to be safe

Was the bug black, with a hard body?
If it was, then it's just a tick - if she's been outside a lot, or in long grass, it might be a tick. Make sure that she's careful -- ticks carry Lyme Disease, which can be extremely devastating to a family.

There would be many bugs if it was lice - take a thin comb and go through her hair. If you don't see anything else, it's probably just a tick. However, you might want to wash your pillow case, just to be on the safe side. :)
