Head Lice Problem? |
WHY DO SCHOOLS STILL HAVE HEAD LICE PROBLEMS WITH ALL THESE REMEDIES AND COMBS OUT? I do screen their hair every morning, but only treat when i see something moving. Last time was with chemicals but use conditioner now. Head lice have become resistant to insecticides.Sometimes they work but often they don't!If your child has long hair keep it tied back as kids tend to be very tactile with one another. My kid's school used to have something called "National nit day" ! On a given day, twice a year, all parents were asked to treat and "wet comb" the whole household to remove the lice. But bear in mind the combing really should be done ever 3 days to break the "life cycle."It is very labour intensive and all parents need to be committed to doing it.Remember, parents, grandparents ,aunties ,uncles etc can all become infested so look out! Please don't take your kids out of school, it is such an important part of the socialisation process.Head lice are a damned nuisance but not a killer disease.Try not to get too worked up about it.All the best to you Dang it now my head itches. I hope you're happy. You have to keep combing with the conditioner and nit comb every two-three days just in case. The children will get used to it - it's just routine. That way if there are any creatures in there, you will get them out before they get to reproductive maturity and start the horrible cycle all over again. Just do it as part of the hairwash. Maybe you should ask the this council to pay for the special shampoo, furniture and bed spray.. That might get their attention. When my kids we're in grade school they brought lice home twice. The school would send a notice home with students in the affected classrooms. Students were not let back into class without being checked for nits with a "black"light by the school nurse. GET OVER IT - IT'S BETTER THAN HAVING THEM ON YOUR BEAVER LIKE ME! Head lice is also a problem here in our country. But due to proper teaching of hygiene fewer children are getting them. When I was in my teens I also had that problem. My mother used to comb me at night with nit comb and after shampooing my hair, she would put cooked coconut oil in my hair. According to her the lice would not be able to hold on to the hair because it is greasy. And also wearing the bandana (head scarf) is also helpful. Good luck to you. I'm sick of this problem too some parents don't clean there wanes head and the problem wont go away been to the school too but the teacher's can only send out letters This is not a new thing my kids are now in their 20's but I remember having the same complaint, a constant round of combing, washing bedding, combing, using every product on the market, combing, combing, combing ..... my kids used to get headlice all the time it was like they were having a part in there heads (the nits} some kids get them but i bet you its the dirty kids heads that dont get them I'm sure that the parents don't think it's natural. Did you ever think that maybe, just maybe that the parents couldn't afford things like that? I understand that it is a pain in the *** for you to have to deal with, but you also have to remember that even though some kids have head lice, they deserve to go to school too. You can say to yourself that lice shampoo, furniture/carpet spray, all the laundry, and trash bags to store away the stuffed animals aren't all that expensive, but they may be to some people. No, my children dont have head lice, but I used to when I was younger because my mother raised four children on her own with a shitty job that didn't pay anything. Please don't blame it on just the parents. Combs can't eradicate lice. Their are a lot of medicated shampoo use it (after checking it's efficacy) very frequently till your child goes to school. In schools students from different social, economical & geographical & faith backgrounds come so lice becomes aproblem for child as wel as parent. Shampooing every 3rd day is best choice. My daugher started school sept.05 and had nits constantly unfortunatley she made friends with a little girl that was never treated I made a formal conpalint to the school headmistress whom requested all children in the school to be checked regulaly but it falls on deaf ears of some parents. i know what you mean, my little one had them last week after his first day of nursery and i was appalled. i have checked his hair twice daily since but noticed a few more this weekend. it was only when i told my husband to check my step kids hair that it became apparent my sons may have come from his half sister. she had loads. Sleep in baby oil soaked all in your hair & scalp overnight! |
