Head lice :( need help...........? |
my 6 year old daughter woke up this morning scratching her head so i checked to see what was bothering her since her friend had lice about 2 weeks ago. she had a bunch of live lice walking around the back of her head right by her neck and ears. so my husband went out and bought the lice kit with shampoo, egg remover, spray for furniture and cars. and a nit comb. i did all that and later on checked her head because she started scratching again, and she still has a bunch of egss that i can't remove they are stuck.what can i do to get rid of them????? i washed everybody's bedding back packs nothing is helping. her scalp is all red . i'm waiting for her doctor to call me back but it's taking to long and want some advice now until the doc calls me back. thanks in advance The best thing to do is to change her pillow case everyday, keep all other family members away from her and ehr room, put all her stuffed animals in a plastic bag for at least 3 weeks even after they are gone just to make sure. Put all her hair ties, combs, brushes, and all that stuff in really hot water to kill and lice if they are on there. wash her head many times with the lice shampoo and i can not stress enough keep her head away from others. if she wants to watch tv or play or something i suggest a hair net because ethey can jump from her head to someone elses or on to the couch. this may take a long time but everyday sit down and go through her head and pick off as many eggs as u possibly can, is possible do more then once a day. This all should help pretty soon. And also just keep in mind that lice reproduce very quickly so picking off the eggs is sooo important! I hope i helped! also If you poor vinegar on her head, just watch out so it doesn't go all over, it suffocates the lice. You are going to have to do more than 1 treatment. The lice are becoming immune to the Rid. Also, apply baby oil to the hair and scalp of your daughter. Let it sit and you can remove the eggs that way. Report It I feel for you. We dealt with this about this time last year, however I have 3 girls that had it. I tried the shampoos and all that, but what really worked was some advice from a beautician. Go to the store and buy some plain old Mineral Oil. The oil will suffocate the live ones and make the eggs easy to come out. The only drawback is you will have to wash her hair about 5 times before all the oil will come, the upside to that is if your daughters hair is dry this will fix that. You will have to recheck her hair in 2 days and maybe have to do the oil treatment again. We have four kids and in our work among the poor, it is almost inevitable that one or the other gets it. I have used 100% Extra Virgin Olive Oil, that seems to help. Good luck. do not do not do not do not! use the chemicals! Those chemicals are illegal to use on anything but lice. Do you think that's bad for her? Let her know that lice happens to everyone. I had it before and lost most of my hair before finding out that it wasn't necessary! first of all, lice cannot live on anything besides human blood. for more than 48 hours. Set aside her teddie bears and pop them in the drier, will kill eggs. we used jojoba oil on my head. squirt generously all over and put plastic bag on her head. work with lice/nit comb all you can. what you can also do is buy a spray bottle, and put some frankinsense/ muhr in it, some tea tree oil lavender oil, etc. etc. in it, these are anti fungall. then spray this on her head and bag it. lice have been chemically enhanced.. no, mutated by these chemicals people put on their heads. do not keep doing only one thing. you have to devise several methods that are different. spray (the stuff I mentioned earlier) jojoba oil, tea tree oil, mayonnaise! keep it up and do not stop. make sure you take her out of school. I don't know where you live but, google search nitpickers. they are a fleet of people who come to your house and within an hour or so they have everything gone from your hair good luck wait a week and do it all again. |

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles getting rid of lice. My answer is going to be long, but I think you'll get a lot of useful info out of it. First of all, don't use the OTC or p... Don't use it unless you need it. It will dry out your scalp and hair REALLY badly. Have someone check your hair for you, usually the back the of the head, they will be able to see little thing... you're gonna have to get new bedding , new brushes everything. my sister had them when we were younger and they never spread to anybody else. my mother finally had to take my sister to the doc... false ...I t is LICE.....a curse! lol, no really wash all linens wash everyone's hair (all the family). spray all the furniture where u sit ect..yes kids at school pass it on even through their clothes... my daughter got them and gave them to me because we shared a bed. simple cleaning isn't enough because they have claws. despite what people usually think of lice..they tend to feed on clean pe... yes but i would go ahead and retreat, ...Take them to the doctor...they can give you a prescription ... |
