Head Lice!!! Please Help? |
N#1 How do you get rid of head lice? I've done around 3 treatments on 2 heads now almost 130$ later. 1 a week on each- & removed as many nits a possibleI used R &C - NO luck- now I am trying babyoil.. It's supposed to work.#2- Is it just me or is head lice harder to get rid of then it was before? i've washed everything & the products don't seem to work- someone also ,mentioned tea tree oil yet I can't find it anywhere.. Just a note-We only have 2 available head lice products here where I live. One has an ingredient-that my girlz react too!! The 1st time I tried the one product-they ended up with hives and burning =one ended up having to have her head shaved so her scalp could heal Take them to the doctor...they can give you a prescription http://www.nuvoforheadlice.com... A doctor discovered an over the counter treatment that works. He was charging lots of money till he had to admit what it was. It is CETAPHIL a skin lotion that is not expensive.the site gives the information on how to use it free! ~A~ Report It http://search.yahoo.com/search... Report It i went to www.cozyscutsforkids.com and i got a lice repellant shampoo and conditioner that i use daily on my 5 year old, Allie's, hair....not a problem since I started using it. Report It stay away from me... tea tree oil is at beatuy supplies like sally's or use rit for head lice conditioner and lice comb used daily for 2 weeks, end of problem you can kill head lice using normal spray that kills insect (forgot how to say it in english, insecticide?)...... smother hair in mayonnaise. have you ever tried to put mayonnaise in there hair it really works!!!!! dye their hair . let the chemicals kill the lice i think rid-x, it has a fine tooth comb in the kit, ask Ur local pharmacy, or better yet seek out a good doctor that can give u medication also, good luck Go to an "old style" drug store and buy some Glover's mange. It sinks to high heaven, but it works. Kills ringworm too! Chances are it's in their clothing or towels, sheets, something, it's obviously not in their heads that they're getting it from. It's their environment. Go from there. If you live near the beach, seawater will kill both the lice and the nits. If not, then I have heard that coating the head with mayonnaise, putting on a shower cap, and letting it stay on for a couple of hours will suffocate the lice and kill the nits, then you just have to remove them, so try that. :) we used the RobiComb when my kids were young and brought it home (ICK! i feel your pain!!) wet the hair and scalp with listerine ,cover with a shower cap,and wait two hours.then rinse put olive oil in their hair, then a plastic cap. let them sleep in it wash it out the next morning. that should work, its always worked for me when my kids got it. its a great moisturizer for hair too! tea tree oil - chemists / herbal shops / big shopping stores now sell it. i had head lice once it was terrible. You have to clean everyday sweep do everything you can to get rid of the lice in the house theres even a spray for the carpet and furniture iam pretty sure! I used bleach on my head...it dyed my hair but it got rid of them! Cause after that...i didnt have them anymore thank god! Goodluck! try the solution that worked before, but this time use a plastic hairnet for a few day's after and keep them out of school and indoors (they won't be happy with this but explain why to them), chances are they are getting them in school or off friends, a friend of mine had a similar problem and this worked, give it a go, just when i sent this noticed a answer saying it could be in cloth's and stuff, check them too Are you cleaning all the brushes, bedding, furniture, carpeting, etc? Lice might be hiding out in one of these areas and just when you think you have all the eggs killed, you might be re-exposing yourself to the critters all over again. Also, if you happen to be around other people who have lice, they might be re-infecting you. You might want to let people your kids hang out with and you're around that there's been a lice outbreak and you're giving them the head's up. It might be a little embarassing, but it's better than frying your hair on all those chemicals and still have lice! hmm well it does seem to be way harder now , but the problem isn't what you've done its that whomever the girls hang around is probably giving it back to them every time you get rid of it. only think i can say is just keep doing the treatments but also keep their hair very short and put hairspray in it , but mainly its not getting it back from other people that keeps it coming back Besides the insecticide shampoo, we used hair conditioner to help soften and remove the nits. Just keep at it. It is easier the shorter their hair, consider a haircut. kwell 1 cup white distilled vinegar with 20 drops melaleuca or teatree oil mixed together in a spray bottle. Spray dry hair until saturated. While hair is wet, use a nit comb to comb through the hair. DO NOT wash this out of the hair for 24 hours. If the hair starts to dry out while combing, rewet the area you are working on. This works great. We would do the saturation thing every other day just to be extra sure we had them all. Beware though, this stinks!!! And like someone else said, you may have to consider a hair cut. Use Olive oil on overnight with plastic wrap or a shower cap on all night. Comb through the hair and rinse the comb. Sanatize all combs. Wash all sheets and pillows after treatment. Repeat every four days for a month. You have to get all of the nits or it will never go away. I braided my girls hair in sections after I checked it for nits. Don't use the shampoo anymore it will affect the central nervous system. I got this pink spray called neon nits and you spray it on their head and comb it out and it turns all of the nits bright pink. It also turns dandruff bright pink. If you want to email me I can send you a care package including the pink spray--we have some left over. Good luck! Praying about it won't hurt either. :0) bodywrap@mhtc.net |
