LICE?!!?!?! Help!!!!!?

I have had lice before......About 3 months ago. My head has been itching again. We still have the nit comb,so i combed that through my hair. I found 2 bugs! I have lice again! I don't want to tell my parents, should i? Or should i take care of it on my own?

Definitely tell your parents, I'm sure they will understand. Whatever you do, don't resort to anything drastic to get rid of them.

My advice is ONLY use a shampoo that does not contain pesticides. There are natural remedies out there that don't just contain salt. Pediculicides (lice killing pesticides) as a class are nerve poisons designed to interfere with the nervous system of lice. Unfortunately this interferes with our nervous systems as well.

Before you listen to anyone advising you to use a pesticide treatment please consider the following:

No chemical head lice treatment is legally allowed to be labeled as 'safe' as every insecticide is a poison. Every pesticide preparation has the potential to do serious damage depending on the individual. If a lice treatment does not work once it is not going to work twice, in fact the lice that live will breed into a whole new batch that are resistant to that chemical.

Read these articles and ask your parents to try to find a natural remedy containing Neem oil as this renders the lice unable to breed therefore making it impossible for them to build up a resistance.

Good luck.

Go take care of it on your own.. Go to walgreens or any health store and ask about any treatment they have like special shampoos or something. If that doesnt work see a doctor.

The same thing happened to me!
First take a shower. Put a lot of shampoo on and a bit of vinegar. If it still doesn麓t go away I would think there麓s no other way than telling your parents and getting a special shampoo to kill the lice.

Totally tell your parents. It will prove your trustworthy. TRUST ME.

Well if you don't tell them you'll probably end up getting it again, you have to decontaminate your areas of living, your bed linens need to be put in garbage bags and tied tightly for 24-48 hours to kill the bugs and any other things you may have like stuffed animals. If you don't decontaminate you might as well forget the lice shampoo.

you should definitely tell your parents, then try a lice shampoo called lice freeee! it works great

You can buy shampoos and sprays over the counter. The biggest brands are Nix and Rid.

Don't go for the "homeopathic" ones. One I saw on the shelf that had an active ingredient of table salt.

Tell your parents they can help, also my daughter had gotten lice from school and i had to take her to the dr.b/c i couldn't get rid of them they told me to buy a couple of bottles of campho phenique and wash there hair in that,to my surprise it worked they were back to school..good luck!!!

Yikes! We had problems with recurring lice as well when I was younger. You may as well tell your parents. There may have been just enough left to start an infestation, or you might have nits that survived in your bedding. All of it should be washed with bleach (color-safe bleach does work, I believe) and you'll need to use a lice shampoo again (I assume again since you have the comb). Something my sister did in addition to washing with the stuff was that with all the rest of us dealing with lice, she used heavy conditioner and left it in for about 10 minutes before washing it out. She also showered twice a day. It's also worth it that after washing and using the nit comb, to every day for the next few weeks, have your hair looked through for signs of a continued or renewing infestation.

sorry didnt get your age,my advice is tell your parents now
sooner they know the sooner it can be treated.ask the chemist for hes/her advice

you have to Tell anyone you have been around for they may have them and you all need to be treated at the same time while you are doing your hair put all things in bags spray the coach as well as the beds you sleep on, it is a long proses but do it right the first time and they will not come back my children got it from the babysitter once she stop coming over the lice went away so getting everyone treat is the key so tell your mom dad sitter friends

aww, im srry to hear. im going throught the same thing right now and ive had lice for a few months too. they just wont go away!! my mom is going to try to see if she can get me into a doctor since nothing else works. id recommend doing the same. lice is popular, and ur not alone. many teens get it, its back to school time no wonder! good luck :)

That depends on how old you are. It cost quite a bit of money to make sure the lice are all dead. You have to make sure every thing you've come in contact with is either washed in hot water in the washing maching or for larger items like beds , couches , pillows or other items that can't be washed needs to be sprayed with special spray that kills lice and their eggs. So unless you have alot of money and time to properly treat not only your hair but everything else also I would suggest you tell your parents.. Actually its not unusual to have a reinfestation about 2 weeks or so after the initial infestation

tell ur rents. yeah, its gross and emmbaressing, (i cant spell! lol!) but its the best option!
