Can pubic lice leave little scars?

I was prescribed very strong medication (permethrin 5%) for pubic lice...I applied the medicine, washed EVERYTHING, I thought I was in the clear. The little buggers came back so I applied again. About a week later, I was still feeling some itching and saw what looked like those little brownish marks again. I just now used an over the counter lice shampoo - I used the comb to get nits out...but none came out. I can still see one brownish mark by my stomach. Is there any reason it would not have come off? Could these guys just be scars from the previous lice? I'm getting so frustrated that they are not going away, I don't know what to do...

Misty has the best solution!!! :) I got those little buggers a long long time ago and tried a couple times to get rid of them. The only thing that did it was completely shaving it off. Never saw 'em again. Phew!

It could be the eggs are stuck. Best advice SHAVE it all off, then shampoo again, if your still itching after that go back to the doctor
