Anyone know any home remidies?

And if you bleach your hair and dye it does the chemicals kill the lice?

My step daughters used to come home from their weekend visits with their mother and bring head lice home! I found that the lice over the years have become kind of immune to the over the counter remedies such as Rid. These chemicals have been around for years, and I think that the lice have evolved so these things aren't as effective. I have no scientific proof of that, but it has been my experience. I do treat with an over the counter product, but I also use mayonnaise. The mayo smothers the lice. Generously apply to the hair and wrap up in Saran wrap or a shower curtain. Leave it on for as long as you want. The mayo also moisturizes the hair, which can get damaged from the chemicals in Rid. Also be prepared to pick through the hair very carefully to remove all of the nits. It is time consuming, but necessary. I have not heard about bleach killing the lice....and I have done some research on the subject!

Or you could just buy the shampoo...

Do not try to kill them with anything else but the medicated shampoo from the drug store. You will never be rid of them completely if you do. It's only $15, so it's not going to break your wallet.

For head lice problem wash your hair with vinegar. It will kill all the nits in two days. Apply coconut oil to your head after shampoo and condition. Add ten to fifteen drops of tea tree oil into shampoo bottle and use it daily. Rub listerine mouth wash on your head. This will kill all the lice. Massage your head with mayonnaise and comb it after 2 hours. This will kill all the lice and their eggs. Apply a mixture of lemon and butter on your head, wait for 15 seconds and then rinse your head.
