Head Lice, Where does it start?

Does anybody know where lice comes from to begin with? I know that you can catch it from other people who have it but how does it get started? Where does the first one come from? My 9 yr old has lice for the 3rd time in 2 years but my other kids don't have it. We were just wondering how it gets started.

Lice are... they have always been and always will be. They are like fleas or ticks or any other insect.

They are not magic little creatures that just pop up. Everyone has one or two somewhere in their enviornment... Children get them from home, not schools. Schools spread them.

Use a laminate on your childs hair. The mite like to cling onto the hair shaft and a child that is properly clean may not be protected. You do not get them from being dirty, they actually prefer clean heads.

If you use the laminate on the hair shaft, it makes it harder for the mite to stick and spend the time it needs to lay the eggs that actually cause infestation.

They also hate Tea tree oil or any oil for that matter...

I really REALLy hate them, they disturb me tono end so I prevent them by washing beds frequently, checking heads frequently and making sure that my kids heads have some sort or coating on the shaft to prevent sticking. They sell not only nit treatment for the hair but also a pesticide for bedding...

Trust me... throw away All old stuffed animals! They can survive on carpet fibers and anything alive that provides them with blood or dead skin cells.

Dirty hair and playin with someone who has it.Once you've treated the scalp make sure you treat everywhere he lays his head otherwise it will be an ongoing situation...

He is obviously coming in contact with kids who have it. Since your other kids don't seem to be catching it they must not be getting close enough to him and they obviously are not sharing his hats and combs or brushes etc. Since it is passed from person to person there is need to wonder how it gets started as all it takes is one person to have it and he passes it to another person. If a person with head lice goes to see his cousins or his friends in another city and gives it to that person they can in turn spread it to kids at their school.

Like not washing them for day, and bateria will conquer the scalp. Haha!
Hm, perhaps wet and damp hair condition might be part of the reason.
You've to shave all your hair or cut them short neatly to get rid of all the headlice... THey're irritating.
