what are all of the ways you can get Leukemia? what happens when you get it? My 13 year old daughter was tested for leukemia yesterday. I'm a complete mess waiting for the results today. I was looking at the symptoms that someone wrote before me and my daughter has a few. But it was actually her dentist that ordered that testing be done. We scheduled an appointment at her dentist because her gums were swollen. He looked at her the next day and was concerned because she takes very good care of her teeth and he said it was unusual for someone her age to have such a severe case of gingivitis. Apparently, he suspected leukemia because the red blood cells go into overdrive and are produced by the bone marrow at too fast a rate. He suspects that the red blood cells may be accumulating in her gums. Anyway...there are numerous signs to look for regarding leukemia. there are many ways, we just don't know what yet. Hmmm.
