Leukemia Info?

Okay, I was just wondering, whats it like to have leukemia? My friend has it, but she lives a few states away so all we do is email and write, but she never really tells me that much about having leukemia. I dont really blame her, though. So I was just wondering, what's it like to have leukemia? Do you have to go to the hospital alot? If so, how many times? Do you have to have a specail diet? What's it like on a normal day? Or is it the day just the same as a person who doesnt have leukemia? (Not trying to offend anyone who actually has leukemia.) Any other information would be good, thanks! I just would like to learn about it more.

The leukemia my friend has is called 'Chronic Leukemia' (sp.?) Sorry... I forgot to add that in.

I'm not answering as a person who has leukemia, but with a person with experience about the subject.

When you have leukemia, you're going to go be going to the hospital quite a bit for treatments. Depending on how bad it is, it varies from once or twice every week or so to a few times a week. Having a special diet will benefit in the longrun, seeing as there are vegetables and fruits with antioxidants that can prevent and help fight the cancerous cells. It's up to you how you lead your day-- it could either be nice and normal or you could be dramatic and mopey about it.

Hope I helped. You can always learn more on leukemia at sites such as Wikipedia.

:)

There are different types of luekemia. It might depend on the type but one of my male friends was diagnosed with acute luekemia and he neede a blood transfusion and chemo. They said he has 1-3 years to live:(

Sorry my best to your friend; I have heard that the person has none or little energy because of the disease or treatment.

from experience i had ALL leukemia your life is almost the same the only difference is that u go to the hospital alot to get checkups, chemo, bone marrows, blood and platelets transplants and your always around the same people.
