For anyone who relates?

Hi, does anyone feel a certain closeness to their female health care professionasl after getting a pap smear, pelvice exam and breast exam done by them? I ask this because i just recently had this done by my new femal health care professional and, I feel closer to her.

Well I have a man gynecologist. But I can understand why you might possibly feel the closeness. If she is an understanding, caring, and compassionate female doctor who you feel can at least relate to your situations (in your case maybe menopause, or any other female case), then that is understandable. I don't think you are strange at all. Is she a new doctor to you or have you had her for quite awhile??? It might be possibly that she uses such an empathetic tone and caring through her touch and words that make you feel completely at ease for the ALWAYS uncomfortable process of going to the gyne, no matter how many times you have done it. Sometimes this happens with any health care provider, just taking comfort in knowing that someone cares for you and also the comfort in knowing they are really a professional at what they do. I am a nursing student about to graduate college and I feel that caring is one of my best qualities, just holding the hand of a patient who seems distressed, because it speaks a thousand words. Please do not think you are weird or anything, because this is probably very normal. And if you are going through menopause and it's due to your hormones going haywire, then take comfort in knowing that as well. One thing males will never understand is females and their hormones, they can do just about anything to us in any situation! Take care of yourself and I hope this makes you feel better!

I feel very close to my Doctor and admire her in many ways. She is just tops, but I feel no sexual closeness. She is lesbian.

Well I think its the fact that she walked you through the steps of each test preformed. Ive felt alot calmer during my test and I even had a male Dr. The better she explains things, the more better you will feel about her and the procedure.

Well, think about it. She's touching sexually stimulating areas on your body, so your body relates her to that. And hey, we all get turned on by things that we wouldn't expect from time to time!

Maybe you just got stimulated and enjoyed the exam that most women hate.
