Upper Leg Injury?

For the last few months I've had a recurring injury in the front of my upper thigh where the leg and hip meet. It started when I was mountain climbing, and it acts up whenever I run and even when I do certain weightlifting exercises in the gym. After doing one of these activities, for the next 2-3 days I have pain whenever I do anything that involves lifting my leg. It then goes away, but the next time I do something active, it's back.

Anyone have a clue to what this might be or an idea of how to heal it, other than "go see a doctor?" Unfortunately I work for a brutal and merciless financial slave labor shop and I don't have time during the workday to get to a doctor's office without taking major heat from my boss. Specifically, do you know what muscle/ligament/tendon/etc this might be? My best guess at this point is a hip flexor. Also, any ideas how to heal it without seeing a doctor? I already tried resting it 3 weeks with no luck. Some sort of stretching/rehab maybe?

It sounds to me like your hip flexor. I know when mine acts up it can become very painful and feels almost as if it is popping. My chiropractor showed me a great stretch for this. I attached a link for this stretch. Give it a try and see how it works. Also, try applying a ice pack a couple of times a day.
