Leg injury caused by extreme collision?

I just injured my leg in my soccer match and I'm not quite sure what it is. that's wrong. The injury was sustained when I was going to take a shot in traffic (opponents all around), I wound up and hit the ball full force. At the same time an opponent came at the ball full force and his foot collided with my shin (I was wearing shin guards).

Symptoms: it's not a pain like you'd experience with a broken bone, it's a very DULL pain. Don't get me wrong though, it's severe, it's just more of a numb/dull pain. This pain is extending from my toes all the way up to the small of my back, with the most extreme pain on my shin where my leg collided. When I stand on the leg it feels like the whole leg will just collapse like a piece of spaghetti. When I hold my ankle up I don't have the ability to flex it, it just lays there limp.

I know that's a lot to absorb, just trying to be thorough. Thoughts? (No doctor immediately available).

Because it's a dull pain and it extends up to my back is it possible I did some nerve damage?

Nerve damage is always possible, but I have a feeling it's deep contusions that are causing your problems. Whenever anything is hit in our body it bleeds and swells internally. This might be putting pressure on some nerves. I'd be really concerned if the leg was pale, cold and didn't have a distal pulse in the foot.

Use the RICE acronym:
Rest the limb as much as possible without weight bearing.
Ice - 3-4 a day for 20 mins
Compression - use a pressure bandage around where you were hit, but don't wrap it too tight.
Elevation- keep it elevated, especially in bed where you should elevate it on a pillow above the level of your heart.

Take some advil as well. If it's not better after a couple of days, go see the doc.
