Knee/Leg Injury?

I was injured around the knee, in back of knee and on top of the calf to exact. The location leads me to believe it might be the PCL. However, It has been about a week since the injury occured and my knee feels fine. There is still some discomfort at the back of the knee, but my knee has full range of motion. I walk without any notice of injury. There is no swelling or brusing. Could this be a ligament injury or something else? I go to the doctors in the next couple of days, and would like to hear any opinions out there. Thank you.

PCL's are usually pretty tough, but you might have sprained it. If you can walk and everything seems fine, continue icing it to get rid of the final amount of pain and inflammation (I know you said there is no swelling, but if there is pain, there is some type of inflammation in there, even if you can't see it). That is a very good sign that you have full range of motion! I would just let the doctor diagnose you...they know their stuff and they will find out what's wrong (most of the time! :D). Good luck at the doctor and get better soon!

PCL is possible... maybe a slight tear... I know of people that can walk normally after a week with an ACL tear... So even though there is little pain, it's possible.

I would go to the doctor and get it checked out... MRI or something....

Oh, and one other thing it could possibly be is a torn miniscus. Which would be some torn cartilage in the knee... That would be the best out of any type of tear you could get (in my opinion.)

It could also be your ACL. You are going to need an MRI for a definitive answer. Knees are very complicated. It could also be deferred pain from somewhere else in your knee. I am glad you are going to the doctor's. I just had my 13th knee surgery last Friday and I had all new cartilage transplanted in my knee in December, so I know that the best thing you can do is be proactive, as you are. Good luck to you.

could be a tear, acl, pcl, meniscus...could be just inflammation, muscle/tendon....take an anti-inflammatory...normally there is instability with a acl/pcl rupture...good luck.
