What is wrong with my leg? I was hit by a line drive softball a couple weeks ago - and it bruised & swole bad.

Now it is red and hot to touch, and even the skin is firm (maybe like minorly puffy or swollen).... After the injury, the leg returned to somewhat normal - but it's weird, this just started a couple days ago. Any ideas on what's wrong, or what I should do to treat this?

This area is just abovre my ankle and the redness is about the size of a softball.

Well, I did. It was a form of cellulitis, although they are not sure if it was staph or strep infected. In fact, after going to my doctor, and the antibiotics he prescribed did not work, I spent 6 days in the hospital receiving antibiotics through an IV. I just got home. I guess it was serious.
