Is Kate Moss to blame for Size zero trend?

People say she started the "waif" trend in the 90's and has carried her skinny ribs and stick legs through to today. (look her up on Google images)

What a load of cr*p. Yes she is skinny, and maybe teen girls look up to her, but many other models are skinny too.

Experts and member of the Eating Disorders Association say that seeing skinny models is NOT to blame for growing cases of anorexia nervosa in the UK. (Just check anorexia article in "GLAMOUR" magazine.

Then what is? I reckon its just a more pressured society, exams, image, depression etc. and this often triggers eating disorders.

As a naturally thin girl myself it p*sses me off when people assume i just want to be a model or i have an eating disorder.

i dont think Kate Moss herself is to blame. There are plently of models who are much much skinnier than her. I think that alot of the things in todays society really can trigger anorexia or similar mental things. And dont worry about anyone else thinking your skinny just because you want to be a model. Most of the time they're just jealous- trust me.

Not on her own, if at all. What about Twiggy, she was REALLY thin.

I totally agree with you... im naturaly skinny aswell, i get alsorts of looks from girls and people calling me names!!!

People just assume that everyone who is thin has an eating disorder just because the rest of the people just look at a cake and get fat.

No it's the designers advertising their size 0 clothes. Kate Wasn't the only waif, remember Jodi Kidd and all the stir she caused within the press when she came on the scene she was skinnier than Kate

Kate Moss stays thin via regular use of Cocaine, she is to blame for the sky rocketing price of cocaine!! She's like a hoover vacuum..

Size 0 craze has been around long before Kate Moss showed up on the scene.

yeah i totally agree. are you talking about the glamour thing were they asked the women who had actually had anorexia? theres always going to anorexic or even naturally skinny people out there. not all of them are 'caused' by other skinny people!

.I do not think that one person in general is the blame for the waif trend. However, I think that the fashion industry is to blame. Seems like everyone is supposed to be perfect and a small size. But I think all sizes are beautiful . Everyone is not meant to be the same, in the end it is not about looks, they fade. Instead it should be about the person inside. Unfortunately, this is not a focus...there is too much superficialness. Hell, if I had my picture airbrushed and digitally altered..I too could be a supermodel...lol

It's the fashion industry and the media as a whole that is to blame. Your reckoning is dead on as well. It is a combination of things, not just one thing. For many sufferers of anorexia, it is the one area they can control in a world they feel is out of control.

Honestly, i dont think it is Kate Moss or any celebratey. Over the past few months i have become very worried and obbsessive about my weight, and everyone says i'm skinny or whatever. And i get it from school, because there are those girls who are perfect and i hate that, and everyone seems skinny, and i dont see myself as that way. So of course i work my butt off to be like a size nothing. haha. Um i know i could never be a zero but i want to get as small as i can go. So i blame it on school, and maybe the girls at school get it from her but i dont. And well the models, i want to be model , and i know i'm going to have to be skinny, except they havent really played a part on my skinny rampage i've gone on.

Kate needs help not for being skinny ,but for drugs and not being a good mother.. she is not an inspiration but an air head who is full of dope... other than being a model Kate doesn't have a future,I pray she wont be wasted like Anna Nicole Smite, they are all a wasted.. they brought kids into this world and not capable of playing the role of a mother.. SHAME ON THEM.. I am not perfect but don't want to be a **** head like some celebrities, I rather be low key than dope head popular.

I'm not skinny, unfortunatly but i dont think kate moss or the other models are to blame but i think the media plays a BIG part, most models were skinny to begin with, people u see on tv normally werent, so they were pressurized to lose weight (u know the whole "the camera adds on 10 pounds" saying). ppl who are naturally skinny shouldnt be labeled as "anorexic" or "model wannabee" or w/e cuz first labeling is stupid and 2nd it is very prejudiced

beauty comes in all sizes and media needs to address that fact first if your happy and healthy who cares if some model is skinny and some are bigger . SOME women look good skinny and SOME look good with a little meat on there bones its all about what people are looking for at the time

Although I would like to blame her as I think she is a pointless waster, I don't think she is to blame no. I think it is largely due to the people who design couture clothing. They have created the benchmark for these women and only they can change it, if they decided that their clothes looked better on a size 8 woman then the size 0 craze would be meaningless.
I am naturally skinny and pre-kids I was a size 6. I am now a 8. People think I have an eating disorder which p's me off, although I did have one when I was in my teens I eat what I want when I want now and take regular exercise.

I dont know but why anyone would want to follow Kate Moss's lifestyle I dont know - she's a walking disgrace, and I dont just mean her size.
