Does my friend sound anorexic, she's trying to lose weight? |
Here was her food intake from today: I forgot to add, she told me what she ate and knew the calories of it all down to the EXACT number. Sort of freaky. This is something that is super hard to approach because you might lose her trust if you automatically assume that she has an eating disorder. You're absolutely right when you say that just because she isn't skinny doesn't mean she can't have an eating disorder, but you could be wrong. I had a friend who was almost in the same situation, but it turns out she just didn't know how to approach her diet properly. hi! my sister has an eating disorder and she does things very similar to this. allthough you feel she has one, she may not. you may want to sit her down and talk to her about what you feel. maybe this will bring out the truth Report It if i was her, i wouldn't eat or drink anything out of starbucks or mcdonalds..............she can get sick from what she ate..........talk to her a little more.....she probably does have an eating disorder Yeah. If she's keeping track of everything she's doing and eating that just SCREAMS anorexia. She'll GET skinny, believe you me. In a baaad way. Let her parents know... let a councilor know, LET A TRUSTED PERSON KNOW. It does sound extreme ... but if she has drastically reduced her calories for an extended period of time, then her metabolism may be way down ... she will have to be careful of caloric intake while she ramps back up ... if she is trying to lose weight, help her research good methods, most affective times of day to exercise, best times to eat ... etc. ... try to encourage a healthy balance for her ... Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Sounds to me like she is trying to lose weight. Please tell her that she does not have to starve herself in order to lose weight. Tell her that in order for her body to "work" she needs to have a certain amount of carbs and fat in her body every day. Now this is not saying she should eat junk food all day but she should eat 2-3 healthy meals a day. Maybe even to, encourage her, you could try a healthy lifestyle also with her. I think that she should continue excercising but make sure you tell her not to overdo herself because if you put to much presure on your body you can become seriously ill. Good luck and alls hope that she comes to her senses. she doesn't have an eating disorder.. duhh |
