Non-verbal learning disorder??? |
Can anyone give me any advise on how to deal with a 19 year old boy with non-verbal learning disorder. He is very difiant and mean to me. I am at my wits with him. Please someone help me to deal and cope with him, I love him, but can't stand to be around him. I'm a nurse. I think body language is key when dealing with a non-verbal person. Try facing the person at all times, smile, a gentle touch on the shoulder, something like that. Please keep in mind that the non-verbal person could very well be responding to how he/she thinks you are feeling for that moment and be simply trying to defend themselves. Also try to keep in mind it's nothing personal, they feel bad about themselves. |
