How do you help someone with a learning disorder retain information?

i try and study but the info never stays in my head what can i do?

Try and use a format to learn that you like. If you like using computers, writing notes and revising on one could help you retain information. If you like to read, have everything written down. If you like to draw, maybe try and make concept maps with pictures. You could even turn something into a song, or a silly rhyming poem to learn. My IT-loving brother has ADD and finds that anything to do with computers, or typed on computers, is easier for him to keep in his head.

Associating things with colours or specific images could help. E.g. all your notes about this particular thing are in, say, highlighted orange and marked with an orange tab. I do this myself!
Try to keep things neat and organised, and have your study space clear and free from distractions. Once things get messy, it's often harder to take in something specific.
Revising things a little bit each day, too, could help it stay in your head, or talking it over with other people - your parents, siblings, or a teacher or tutor. Having a conversation about a topic and hearing it in different words works well for most people.

fish oil supplementation has been proven to be very effective and so has blue berry intake.

This has proven to truly make great improvements...

you have to keep reviewing, try and remember the facts in stupid rhyming ways, attach it to other information that you have retained that reminds you of the facts, we don't think like other people, it's not really a learning disorder we just see things differently from other people, we problem solve differently, ever notice that sometimes you can figure something out faster than the smartest kid in the class using your own rules of problem solving ????? I was tagged with a learning disorder when I was 12 yrs old, one of my teachers noticed that I could keep up with the fastest speed on the reading machine, nobody else in the class could, I had "D's" and "F's", they sent me to a learning center were the results came back as the reading speed and comprehension of a 19 year old male.

Repetition ,Repetition, Repetition ,Repetition.................

May be you are not understanding what you are studying. First try to understand the meaning of that subject. try discussing the subject with known people. once you understand thoroughly it will stay in your memory. keep discussing and gather relevant information. it may help you. good luck dear friend.

You are probably just tired and so get some more sleep. If I am tired I can't do crossword puzzles, when I am not tired I do them ok.
Try not to cram too much at once.
Anyway we are not all meant to be Einsteins. That means everyone is not brilliant. Being normal is ok.
Good Luck
