Anxiety disorder question? |
If you suffer with anxiety is it possible to lead a normal life without medication and learn to control the disorder yourself? or can this trigger off worse problems later on? is it true it can lead to depression in the future if not treated? I have a anxiety disoder! When it first developed it CRIPPLED me! I spent nearly 3 years hiding inside, scared to go out etc! I tried all the mids and therapy and shiz and it just got worse! I did however cure myself, mainly by learning what causes the anxiety, and finding away around it! I'm technically just as anxious now as i was when i first got ill, but i live a normal life! Am a student! It rocks! Good luck!!!!!!! get treatment quickly or you'll suffer from depression later on in life. anxiety disorder has been proven to effectively controlled without meds, through CBT cognitive behavioural therapy , ie help from a psychologist, keep a diary of things that make you less or more anxious and then avoid doing the things or people etc that make you anxious and then do all the things that you know make you less anxious if u dont get treated u will have depression problems later in life and if u starve your self your just gonna gain more weight or your gonna die The human mind and body is capable of wondrous things. I now lead a normal life without medication. Here is a biblical treatment for anxiety disorder.... Have a look here and Good Luck. Yes, but I think it takes a huge commitment. My daughter had social phobia and panic disorder and never took medication. She did yoga daily and did journaling daily and she and I would talk together several times a week about what she had written and what was on her mind and make some plans for her goals for the next week. She was very committed to getting better and now is fairly free of anxiety. The anxiety she does get she controls with deep breathing exercises. You need someone to help you and talk with you but you can do it without meds and without becoming mentally ill. It all depends on the nature of the anxiety, how long it has being going on for, and how severe it is. If your anxiety is relatively mild, and you were previously functioning quite well, then it's possible that you can avoid going down the road of taking medication if you get the right kind of help. Talk to your GP about it. They may be able to refer you for some kind of counselling/therapy. On the other hand, if you've always been a very anxious person, and you're finding that it's getting steadily worse, to the point where it's starting to affect your ability to function normally, then it's time to consider some form of medication, which will most likely be an antidepressant. The danger of struggling with severe anxiety alone is that it can have a kindling effect, which can lead to more permanent problems, including depression. Once that happens, it's very difficult to take full control of your life again. You have to weigh up which is worse-having a life-long struggle with anxiety, or trying some form of medication, which will at least alleviate the worst of your symptoms. |

I know of this emotional acupuncture type method that you do on yourself. It is phenomenally successful, but it does require some persistance and probably doing some work with a practitioner to ... to be honest with you it is probably the best treatment results ive ever seen. i have babysat for dr bitter &his wife, and seen pictures of his results and even used some of the facial product... I am on Prozac too. As far as I remember, Prozac can act like an "upper". It might be; you should at least ask your doctor about it. It could just be from a lot of stress though. |
