I have a question about lead poisoning? |
i was walking on my knees and pencil lead stuck through my knee not far but poked out the other side not deep at all but it broke the skin and im bleeding not much, can i get lead poisoning First off Pencils do not have the "lead" in them (at least not anymore) They use graphite instead. So no need to worry about lead poisoning. You should however be concerned with infection as the end of a pencil is not exactly the cleanest thing in the world. So put some triple antibiotic on it, be sure to wash the wound well when you get a shower, and cover it up with a dry sterile dressing until it scabs over. Once it scabs over you no longer need the dressing on it. Good Luck! Watch out for those pencils! lol ;-) its not likely unless the lead remains in the skin Pencils use graphite which is a type of coal. They don't use the metal lead, therefore, it's impossible to get lead poisoning. Unlikely, most pencils these days don't contain enough lead (if any) to poison you. You will be fine. |

You will not get lead poisoning from any pen or marker; they do not contain lead. Neither do pencils anymore; they are made of graphite. The materials used in the markers and pens are safe; nothing... No, to get lead posioning you have to consume, or come in contact with lead for an extended period of time or directly consume major amounts of lead at a time... My school (built in 1953) has lead... Metallic lead does not dissolve easily under the skin, which is why, after 30 years, you still found the pieces. It is COMPOUNDS of lead, such as lead acetate, formerly used as a whitener in paint,... Take your child to a doctor and they will run a simple blood test. A child can be tested for several months to years later for high blood levels. You need not worry to much unless your child has ... Here's the problem.... filters only filter. Yeah, I'm sure everyone is saying "duh!", but my point is that it can only remove a certain amount and it's not perfect in rem... Aspartame and Splenda(sucralose). They are used in many drinks to cut calories but come with side effects. Aspartame is much worse and I'm surprised it hasn't been banned yet... Aspar... Lead paint is not used on cars. At least not in any modern, civilized country. ...Not with a pen and not with a pencil either (because pencils are actually graphite). Besides even if they were lead it would take more than that to poison someone. ... |
