Lead poisoning - how come pencils are of relatively low risk? esp for kids?

pencils leads are made out of a form of carbon, they have no lead in them.

graphite has been used in pencils now for decades, lead is no longer used.

Pencils are made with graphite, not lead.

Pencil "lead" isn't really lead at all- it's just graphite, made with carbon which is something we naturally have in our bodies anyway.
