Can you get lead poisoning from a pencil if your child accidently pricked himself? |
My son came home saying he was trying to poke holes in paper and he stabbed his self accidently. Dear pencil's aren't made of lead. They are made of a type of graphite. No worries. How deep is it? If it's just a puncture, he'll be fine. LOLOLOLOLOLOL Pencils have no lead. They are graphite. Pencils don't have lead. It's a clay mixture. Lead is a metal and you can't write with it. No, its actually graphite, a form of carbon. do they still use real lead in modern pencils? No. They don't use lead in pencils anymore, they use grafite. No. Pencils have no lead. The "lead" part is graphite. It is safe. Though it is still referred to as "pencil lead" the material that now makes up them is graphite. So no, just wash and cover it properly. maybe the paint on the side of the pencil contains lead (not likely though), but the pencil point material is carbon (more specifically, it is graphite) not lead. your child is a carbon-based life-form so he should be able to assimilate it. graphite is nontoxic. No, there's no lead in pencils, the grey lead type material in pencils is made from graphite. pencils have no lead in them. no... they don't use lead in pencils anymore, and instead now use a mixture of clay and graphite. No more red lines on the arms from the 'poisoning' He's fine, it'd graphite, not lead- can see why it's bit worrysome but don't worry! Did you put antibiotic ointment/a bandaid on it? That's your best bet for a pencil puncture! NO. The "lead" in a pencil is not actually lead, it is graphite, which is carbon. Not toxic at all; don't worry about it. |
