Does latex allergy (from dental work) ever go away? |
What's in latex that people react to so badly? If it's rubber, why aren't tire factory workers dreadfully sick? latex allergy, like most allergy, is an immune system response. When you develop the allergy, it is usually due to prolonged exposure to latex. When you have a reaction to latex such as when you have dental work, it is most likely you have always had a sensitivity to latex, that has progressed to an allergy. latex is something used to make gloves and condoms. not tires. and no it will never go away. at least i've never heard of it going away. i work at a dental office and i've had patience for years that never lose their allergy. |
