Latex allergies?

I'm allergic to the powdery stuff in latex gloves. Do they use the same type of latex in condoms as well? And are there other latex products that I do not know about that could be giving me rashes? Which are harmful to me and which are not?

Latex is latex, there is only one kind and it is found in many different products including; gloves, underwear & socks (anything with elastic), the backside of carpets, balloons, hoses, furniture, etc.

Some people with latex allergies are also allergic to certain fruits (like bananas).

You should talk to your doctor because he/she can give you a complete list of items to beware of plus fruits and other foods to be cautious with.

There are nonlatex condoms for those with allergies.

you can get powder free latex gloves if you are allergic just to the powder but vinyl ones are available as well powder free. as for condoms you can get polyurethane ones they are readily available.

People with latex allergies (if that is what you have -- you should discuss this with a physician) can use polyurethane condoms which do not contain latex. It is VERY rare for a person to be allergic to both latex and polyurethane.

These condoms are a bit more expensive, though you may be able to find an organization that gives them out free of charge. Some people prefer polyurethane condoms.

Again, speak with a physician about this.
Hope this helps
