How can people allergic to latex condoms have safe sex?

My old sex ed teacher said that the person allergic to latex has sheepskin condoms and then the latex goes either under or over (depending on whom has the allergy) that. I know that two latex condoms have a greater chance of breaking, but does this mean that a latex and a sheepskin will also have a greater chance of breaking? My health teacher says yes, but my former sex ed teacher says that the sheepskin/latex combination works. Who's right? I only want people who know what they are talking about to answer-not someone who heard about it from a friend's friend in a locker room somewhere.

There is another option...polyurethane condoms. They have not yet been proven to block STD's such as HIV, but they will work for preventing pregnancy.

The best safe sex is not sex at all. An alternative would be for a couple to be tested for STD's and then pick one of various methods for birth control.

If your old sex ed teacher told you to use two condoms at once, they're the worst teacher EVER. you should never use two condoms at once. the chance of those breaking / tearing / causing irritation is very high.

Polyurethane condoms are seen today as the best way to have safe sex if you have a latex allergy. Lambskin condoms sell on the market today as well, though I would definitely not combine it with a latex condom.
