Has anybody had laser surgery on 1 eye?

i have had lasik laser eye surgery on my left eye as i was told that my prescription is very week in my right so i went to optical express last week and had my 1 eye done, now a week later i still cant see properly?? its like wearing 1 contact lense, i cant see properly distance to watch tv or drive and i cant see to read or do close up stuff, my eyes are just not working together. anyone else had this problem? if so what did you do. i was told it would adjust in a few days but its been over a week now.

Did they give you mono vision? For people over the age of 40 some people have monovision done sometimes surgery is needed on one eye and sometimes both. One eye would be for near and one would be for distance. ( to eliminate the need for reading glasses. If that was done then your eyes will need time to adjust , basically your brain needs to retrain them to work together.
If no monovision was done then it may be that you have such "good" vision in your left eye now that the right doesn't see as good even if it was ok before. Hope that makes sense. I would give it a week or two ( maybe longer) and if it is still a bother then see about having surgery on your other eye. It shouldn't be too expensive if it has a small rx like they told you. Good luck

My friend has just had laser surgery on one eye but in his case he had it done in hospital. He has been told it will take about 10 days for it to right itself.

Yes, alot of people have had lasik done on only one eye. The optometrist I work for had it done and it's worked great! I have 20/15 vision in my right eye(which is great), and 20/450 vision in my left(which really sucks). I was thinking about having lasik done on my left eye, but decided not to.
If I leave my left eye alone, when I get older and need a reading correction(which is known as presbyopia), my right eye will work for my distance, and my left eye will work for my reading. It will work like a natural mono-vision correction!
