Laser eye surgery recovery?

I had laser eye surgery on saturday and my vision is great almost straight away however, my right eye is bloodshot and aches slightly. How long does bloodshot eyes usually last? I had a post op consultation on sunday and they said my eyes were fine and it was nornal but gave no indication of how long it would take for the blood to dissapear. Does anyone know?

Did a blood vessel burst? Or is your eye just red like irritation. If it looks like blood on the outside of the eye-that means a little blood vessel burst. Its very common and nothing to worry about. It tends to look worse before it gets better. Just keep using your rewetting drops as directed even if your eyes dont feel dry. It usually takes about 1-2 weeks before it will go away. You've had invasive surgery and your eye is trying to heal itself. It varies from person to person because we all heal at different rates. Just keep following the clinic's advice and keep going to the appointments.

My husband had the LASIK procedure and had a tiny spot (where the vacuum was most strongly attached to create the flap) and his eye looked really bloodshot for a couple of days, but started improving after that. It could be that you might need to use the artificial drops a little more often to fight dryness, which could also cause the appearance that your eyes are bloodshot.

Try your artificial tear drops more often throughout the day and I think you will see an improvement in the suction spot in the next week to 10 days. The aching should dissipate in the first few days. Be sure to address that with your surgeon if it is no better (or call sooner if it gets any worse) at your one week followup visit.
