Is laser eye surgery a good idea?

i have been interested in getting laser or lasik eye surgery, i dont currently wear glasses but i cant see far away. but i heard that the eye surgery only lasts a few years. just wondering if anyone had it and if it works?

There are risks involving laser eye surgery. I suggest you read information on this website:

http://www.lasiksucks4u.com/

You may be interested to know that there is an alternative treatment for blurry vision called natural vision correction. It consists of specific eye exercises and techniques that can improve your eye sight and it's completely safe.

I used to be short sighted with slight astigmatism and was able to improve my vision completely with these exercises. Eye exercises require persistence, but they are worth every bit of it. Read more about eye exercises here:

Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Everyone that I know that's gotten thinks it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Why don't you wear corrective lenses if you can't see far away?

I think laser surgery is a good idea...but unfortunately I don't think I'm an optimal candidate for it as my eyes seem to get worse every year. I think the results are supposed to last at least 10 years. If you actually are interested, you could also set up an appointment for a consultation.

Yes it works and if you go to the right place they will do touch ups free! I had it done 4 years ago. I'm so happy I did it and haven't needed to go back since. I had 20/200 in one eye and 20/15 in the other now I have 20/15 in both eyes. My only advice is that if your eyes are as bad as mine were, get the special lasik that's modified to your eye specifically.

I had lasik done about 8 months ago. I do not regret it. It is wonderful to not be dependent on my glasses in order to see. My vision was better than 20/20 right after the surgery, but has gone down to only 20/20 now. I am still happy with that!!!
My eyes are dry sometimes and I keep eye drops handy for when I need them. Mostly first thing in the morning. I can see well at night too. My eyes are more sensitive to light than they were before and I use sunglasses more often, but that is a good thing to do regardless. And its nice they do not have to be prescription sunglasses! Any how, all things considered, I would highly recommend it, if you are tired of wearing glasses. It's funny how I would still look for my glasses thinking I needed them and then realize- no I don't. It takes a little while for your brain to realize it is seeing things just fine.
Good Luck! If you do decide to get it, just do a bit of research on the best technology around- cheaper is not always better.

If you don't really need it, then DON'T. I knew someone who's relative moved his eye during the surgery (awake, of course), and messed up his eye. And I've heard of another person who went blind for a month, but during that time, didn't know if his eyesight would return or not. I'm sure a lot of people love it, but there are possible dangers to be aware of.

Lasik can do for your eyes what glasses or contacts can do ( obviously without the need to wear them though haha) If you don't see much better in glasses than I would wait. If you can then I would get it done, just research different surgeons, go with newer technology (Custom)( it is more expensive so ask for proof that you had custom done) and look into what the doctor will guarantee or offer as far as enhancements, just in case your vision does change later on in your life. Good luck.
