Laser eye surgery for astigmatism?

Hi, I'm thinking about looking into laser/lasik eye surgery for astigmatism in my right eye. Any one here done it before with good results? Last time I talked to my doc, he said he didn't recommend it. Something about it eventually coming back.

It is the best possible treatment, the chances of it coming back are rare and the risks percentage is pretty low nowdays. Here is an article i found usefull about the subject http://www.healthadel.com/articles/2/1/L...

I know of two people who were nearly blind and can see very well now. One of them remarked that he didn't know what color their pet parrot was until he had the surgery.

I don't recommend it also..

Imagine they use laser to burn you cornea...

Anything wrong, you loose your sight.

You better try the contact Lens which can correct your eye site (It change the curve of your cornea), but it is only temporary, check with your eye doctor..

Or better don't do anything to it...

yes, He might be right. i was an interpreter for an eyesight campaign in my country, and the doctor I interpreted for said that for the moment there is nothing that could be done.

eye laser surgery is very expensive and is not appropriate for everyone. It depends on if you are going to change your habit, such as reading at dim night, reading at bed or sit too close to watch TV. If you cannot change those habit even after the surgery it will mostly come back.

my friend got told that she couldnt get hers done because of the astigmatism, they just wont do it at all.

they recommend that there are no changes in the eye for at least 12 mths

I'll be going to have a consultation for my eyes but recently my optometrist advised that i now have minor astigmatism in one eye
im hoping Lasik will say i can do it but im not too positive about it.

Personally I have not had it yet but I am going to next month. My son had his done, and his wife, many of my friends also. Their testimonial is what made my mind up to having mine done in the Philippines as it cost $1,000 for both eyes. The goal of lazer/lasik is 20/20 vision up to 25/25
