Is laser eye surgery safe in the long run? |
Most people who have it done, notice that their eyesight still gradually deteriorates slowly. i am 51. had it done 9 years ago. vision is perfect and so far no problems. they said i MIGHT need reading glasses years down the road. my friend had laser surgery - and she found her eye sight to be perfect. however she then had a baby and after giving birth her eye sight detiorated somewhat. it's still much better than before the surgery - but not perfect. so far in singapore, it has been noted tat it is 100% safe n does nt hav any side effects or wadsoever.. so.. get a trusted eye surgeon for the job! I would not go running soon after the operation, but it should be fine later on im sure its safe if you go to the best surgon but remember if they mess up, or things go wrong and nature doesnt like what man is doing!! then you will be scarred for life!! no, i got a friend who done this in few year ago, but now, already got problem, and people only can do 2 times for whole life only, I would not recommend this! A friend of mine had it done, he See's perfectly during the day but in the evenings he cannot bear to look at bright light, nor does he drive any more after dark the light appear to be like Halos . This hurts his eyes and causes migraines. I just do not trust it, I have thought about getting it done, but I don't have confidence in it at all, if it goes wrong you are buggered. Whilst I can't comment on the long term safety of laser eye surgery, I can tell you that it is entirely true that your eyesight will deteriorate as you age, irrespective of laser surgery or not. Hi My answer may help you. but certainly the answer that Josianne gave you has help me to understand a lady friend of mine. She is complaining exactly about the same things that Josianne is talking about When my friend comes to my house , she always ask me to turn most of the lights off because it hurts her eyes....and she talks abouts those Halos...and I thought my lady friend was a wimp...Now I know I was wrong Lasik and Laser eye surgery is very safe nowadays.
