Is laser eye surgery as quick, easy and painless as they portray on 'extreme makeovers' on sky/living? |
I watch the americas extreme makeovers, and they seem to be pretty quick, easy, uncomplicated and painless.. is it really like that? Actually, yes it is. My Dad had it done and said he did not feel a thing. He walked out of the office that day seeing blurrily, but when he went home and took a nap (in special goggles so he could not touch his eyes), when he woke up he could see everything clearly. He was legally blind before he had it done! He had to use fake tears for lubrication for a year afterward (as many people do), but he has great vision and has had no issues. I think that some people need to get it twice, depending on the shape of their retina, in order to get the vision they desire. But it is a relatively low-risk and simple procedure. He says it was the best thing he ever did. They sure dont advertise any problems! I have heard of some. Yep. I had my left eye done 20 years ago. Yes, my friend got it done in Canada befpre it was legal in the U.S. Yep, definitely quite easy and painless apart from the strain on the bank balance ! If you get it done, keep in mind that the results aren't likely to be permanent and you will either need another procedure or have to wear glasses again. I've been told that you can never wear contacts again. I had my right eye done 20 years ago. I had my eyes corrected 2 years ago and would definitely recommend it. I had discomfort for 3-4 days, like grit/sand in my eyes, but if I needed to go through it again I wouldn't hesitate. My 92 year old mom had to have it done because her cattachs clouded over. She was ok. I know what you mean! All the surgical procedures seem to be healed in our time 20 minutes (not the real weeks of the time behind the shows!). |
