After having laser eye surgery. Is it true that you'll probably go blind within 10 years? |
People suggest that there is still a downside to laser eye surgery. Shall we stick to glasses and contacts for now and pray it will get safer within say 20 years? What do you think? Laser surgery is usually recommended for people with high myopia IE. -4 and above ie.,-8 or -12 etc. No. It's been 11 years for me and I am still going strong. I certainly hope that is an urban legend. One which I never heard before, btw. I doubt it, but I'm not a doctor either. No, that is not true. Laser surgery would be prohibited if it was. No, but i have heard the eye sight can deteriorate once again to it original state after a long period of time with age etc... From what i've been told from people who have had the procedure it is absolutely fantastic and worth every penny :o) no, that isn't true at all. no, laser surgery would not be permitted if this was the case. sometimes regression or under treatment can occur which will cause you to have blurry vision. If you go to a reputable laser company they will usually offer a one time touch up. Also when you age your eyes change shape resulting in the need for reading glasses but this would likely occur without the surgery depending on your prescription. Another common symptom, is night glare but i get that even from just wearing corrective lenses. |
