Should I get laser eye surgery?

I currently wear contacts (-5.00 diopters left eye, -5.75 right eye in case it matters), my vision prescription changes a little each year, and I'm 23 years old. Is the time right for me to go through laser eye surgery (such as LASIK) or should I wait it out a little longer?

In other words, should I do it now or later?

The results are GREAT. Your optomitrist will recomend the proper age...this is because everyone is different and they'll do tests to determine if your eyes are changing still.

I watched the surgery on TV at least 10 times. However, going through it was the scarest thing of my life. Have you seen the movie, "Fire in the Sky" <aliens probe humans>. Anyways, this is how I felt...I was awake, and my eyes were tapped open...then a bright light was beamed directly into my eyes...I wanted to blink but couldn't...then a small metal circle approached my eye, and I could HEAR the slicing of my eyeball...everything went black and I almost paniced, but the doctor was calming...then light came back and I could fully see. This all took about 5 minutes from start to finish!!!

The dangers of this surgery are eye dryness. Some people have a permanant problem with their eyes drying out causing severe pain and discomfort...however, I belive this is a very small %...check with the doc.

Also, You may exerience hazing... this is when you're driving at night and see a yellow halo around lights <like car head lights>

Again, this has great results. I can now see bunny rabbits in the forest with ease.

if you have the money you could get laser eye surgery....and it's better than wearing contacts all day....

Could you think of a reason not to? Do the research, I've never seen it go wrong and it seems like a boost in self confidence as well as comfort. If you procrasinate it, you're vision might get worse.
