What causes laryngitis?

any answers are great and thanks for helping :]

Ahh, poor you!

Yes, it could, ...

Laryngitis is a common disorder that causes acute or chronic inflammation of the vocal cords. Acute is usually a localized infection or else is because of a wider systemic illness.

It is primarily a viral illness, or else overuse of the voice, and as such antibiotics are of no use and the disease will be self-limiting and go away on its own. The symptoms of laryngitis are mild to complete loss of voice, pain (esp when swallowing) persistent dry cough, fever, laryngeal swelling and malaise. If it persists or gets worse, then see a doctor. You might want to see a pharmacist as they are well qualified medical professional who can offer a lot of free advice and some effective pain medicines.

I'd take ibuprofen 400mg 3 times a day, and paracetamol (acetaminophen) 1000mg 4 times a day. (unless you are taking any other tablets, then see a pharmacist first). This should help the pain and swelling.

Try hot steam inhalations, get a bowl and pour some water from the kettle in it, put a towel over your head and breath deeply. This can really be effective.

Rest your voice!! This is KEY!

Take it easy and hope you get well soon!

screaming too much

omg i had this like 3 or 4 weeks ago then it went away and it came back again but it was bc i went to the jonas brothers concert and i went to universal studios b4 the show and i was like running around and i never drank water then i screaming so that is how i got mine but then i got it back like a right now and i got it from my friend and i had strept but its going away and im jsut coughing now u should just have the doctor have it checked out. :)

Laryngitis can be caught from saliva its nickname is kissing disease although you partner may not have the illness they could just be a carrier, If someone coughs near your face sneezes or simply sharing a drink could give you this but it is contagious.
Hope i helped a little.
