Relief for Laryngitis?

Does anyone know a proven relief for laryngitis except for resting the vocal chords?

try a couple of spoon fulls of honey. It soothes the chords.

Gargling with warm salt water helps sooth any irritation, but I don't know if it helps the healing process.

Fill a bowl with steaming water, put a towel over your head, and inhale the steam through your mouth, this really does work.

Drink warm Chicken Soup...Americas remedy is still number one. And throw a little Cognac in there for flavor boost:);)

steam inhalations twice a day and lozenges for relief. It is a viral infection and no antibiotics are needed.
