Laryngitis...how long does it last?

Seriously...i just got it yesterday/today and yeah its terrible
and i am supposed to do solo/ensemble singing on Saturday (as in a week from tomorrow)
will i be able to do it?

Maybe, maybe not. Do not use your voice. Drink tea with honey & lemon. Keep drinking fluids until you are floating!!Get adequate sleep. Stand in a hot shower & let the steam work. If you have a humidifier or a vaporizer, use them. Use anesthetic throat spray. Don't force your voice. Cross your finger. I have had laryngitis for over 3 weeks before--that is my weak spot. Hope you come out of it in time for your performance.

i had that once, it cleared up in about 2/3 weeks i think! but I still had a sore and groggy throat for a while after that. :(
so maybe you wont be able to do your solo.
