Laryngitis, and tonsillitis?

think its developed due to the cough i have developed due to hayfever
question is would you go to work ?
I feel abit flue like and tired with it

just taken my temp its 38

You certainly wont develop either tonsillitis or laryngitis secondary to hay fever.

If your hay fever does cause cough, it will be dry and irritating or conceivably wheezy. It will not produce a flu like episode or tiredness.

It is more likely that you have a simple viral cold. Unless you have a fever, as confirmed by actually checking your temperature, it is unlikely that you need to stay off work.

If it is accompanied by fever then you should stay home. It is better to stay home and rest then infect everyone at work.

CERTAINLY NOT.....Phone doctor immediately or ask someonr to phone up. Your health matters before business.

Only you can really answer this question, do you feel up to working? If not take a few days to recover.

A medical definition ending in "itis" refers to inflammation. Thus laryngitis describes inflammation of the vocal folds, no matter what the cause. As a result, it is what is called a nonspecific term, or a somewhat vague diagnosis. In the case of hoarseness that comes with a sore throat, cough and a fever, and lasts just a few days, laryngitis is probably an adequate diagnosis, as most such cases are viral in origin and will resolve with rest, hydration and other routine measures. Under certain circumstances, antibiotics may be appropriate, as determined by your doctor. More than likely, it is not infectious, as the body鈥檚 immune system is equipped to react to an infectious organism. Tonsillitis is an inflammation of the tonsils caused by an infection. In tonsillitis, the tonsils are enlarged, red, and often coated (either partly or entirely) by a substance that is yellow, gray, or white. Tonsillitis usually occurs as part of a pharyngitis (throat infection). Tonsillitis usually begins with sudden sore throat and painful swallowing. Sometimes, tonsillitis reoccurs, and may cause difficulty breathing. If this occurs, your doctor may recommend taking them out. This procedure of removing tonsils from the throat is called a tonsillectomy. Your decision as to whether you should go to work should be governed by the knowledge that tonsillitis is infectious in it鈥檚 later stages and you would infect some of your co-workers. The other consideration is your ability to work of you were to decide to attend.
When more detailed medical knowledge is needed, you would be advised to consult your doctor.
Hope this helps
