A question in regard to Lactose intolerance.?

I've been lactose intolerant for years, but I've never had any issues with it... until now. I have a controlled diet with little to no milk products (lactose free, soy etc...). Lately, I've been getting indigestions, gas and other stomach problems and I have no idea what it's related to.
I found out that the birth control pills I have been taking contain Lactose Monohydrate (milk sugar). Now my questions are: Could it affect my lactose intolerance? or is the quantity too small? Could my problems be related to something other than lactose?

I'd call the pharmaceutical company and ask a nurse there.

As far as other products, did you know that certain foods contain milk and you might not realize it? For example, hamburger helper had an italian dish and it had condensed milk in it. That make me sick. Buttermilk pancakes make me sick. Read the ingredients on food, not just the "headlines."

follow up with your GI doctor. keep a food diary.

Based on what you said, its almost certainly the lactose in the pills.
You can either explain the problem to your doctor and ask for pills without lactose, which may or may not be possible, or you can get over the counter Lactase pills and follow the package directions (likely to be, Take 15 minutes before consuming Lactose).
