Could it be lactose intolerance?

I used to eat all of the dairy products I wanted to (I'm now 21), but recently everytime I eat ice cream I get what seems like a urinary tract infection. It started with just ice cream, so I stopped eating that all together, but then it started happening if I have alot of butter on something. Then the other day I drank just a little bit of milk and I got the UTI but also my stomach felt weird. Could I have developed lactose intolerance, or could it be something else? If it is lactose intolerance, am I going to need to take some kind of pills to make up for the calcium I will be losing? And does that lactose free milk taste good?

I've tried cutting out dairy, and I don't get a UTI when I'm not eating dairy .. and it doesn't seem associated with my menstration...

I'm really not sure if there's a correlation between the lactose and your UTI-like symptoms...The only way to really test it is to cut out dairy for a while and evaluate your results, but yes, you should take a calcium supplement if you're not eating dairy. And also, yes, the lactose-free milk is pretty good, and comes in different flavors. :)

Lactose free milk I have never tried before but Soy milk and rice milk tastes good to me... I'm lactose intolerant, and I would get a serious stomach ache, nausea, cramps and # 3... lol NOT FUN. Are you using tampons? That could be the problem when it comes to UTI's, thats my problem, I always have them, I take D-Manosse powder in my drinks and it REALLY helps
