Congenital lactose intolerance..?

I have congenital lactose intolerance, and I still eat dairy on a daily bases. I do get sick, but I can deal with it. But can dairy harm me in ways that are dangerous to me?

Eventually, it could lead to Crohn's disease which is really not pleasant. Talk to your doctor about taking an over the counter product such as Lactaid. My daughter is lactose intolerant and can handle small amounts of dairy without it making her sick. She also drinks lactose free milk.

you may have a problem with dehydration or maybe even an electrolyte imbalance if it is severe enough, but that is not likely the situation for you. The body is excreting H2O molecules rapidly, but if it's not bothering you that bad, then maybe there is no need to change. If you were having malnutrition or severe diarrhea consistently, i would think you would avoid the foods that bothered you. Talk to your doc at your next physical for his or her opinion!
