Lactose intolerance/allergy with a twist.?

I have an intermittent lactose intolerance or allergy. My symptoms are the same as for either one. I am very sensitive, as a tablespoon of non-dairy coffee creamer will get me sick. This creamer contains .001% of sodium caseinate, which is not considered to be a milk product by the FDA because it is so changed from it's original state, and doesn't contain lactose. All other forms of milk make me sick also. Now the twist. This only happens about 6 months before I have a bipolar episode, and lasts about two years. A bipolar episode lasts about four years (but gets stronger and lasts longer each time). I have been tested for milk allergy with negative results. I haven"t found a doctor who has even heard of this problem. So, any help with this problem? The milk, not the bipolar-I'm pretty much stuck with that.

Just a theory; Maybe because your chemical balance is different just before and during an episode, you react to other chemicals and substances, that you normally wouldn't. Doctor's don't know(and haven't seen)everything yet. If you can imagine it, it could probably happen. Try soy milk, or goats milk and see if it makes a difference. Good luck!

Thanks! Report It
