Can a person develop lactose intolerance? |
I've always been able to eat milk until the last three months or so. And now, if I eat very much dairy, I get very bloated feeling- among other things. Yes you can develop it. My doctor has told me many of the populace is developing this in the last two decades because of the chemical application and processing of modern foods. Lactose pills will help alot , they provide the enzyme that your body is missing to properly digest milk products. You can get them at your local drug store or where any pharmacy is available. Yes, you can as you get older. You can use soy products or take Lactalose, an over the counter med. that can help you deal with the intolerance which ain't fun! Godloveya. Yes a person can develop it...very common. There are med's that help, but most adults do not really need lots of dairy anyway. So, you may want to limit and eliminate most dairy. (It really means you're missing an enzyme that keeps you from processing dairy...) Up to you what you do. Over the counter or eliminating dairy... yes you can, I did. The best thing to do is get lactaid milk ( I actually like it better than real milk) for cereal and cooking and stuff there's no taste difference. And get lactaid pills to chew before eating lots of dairy. The worst is that living on the toilet feeling for the rest of the night after eating pasta alfredo or something- eat lactaid first and it magically somehow blocks your system from freaking out. I actually outgrew it after a few years too which is wierd. Maybe you will too Yes, you can. Especially if you have an allergy to milk. You can develop an intolerance or allergy at any time. If it is lactose intolerance, then you can get something like Lactaid to take before you eat or drink anything with dairy products in it. Yes, it is possible to become lactose intolerant. And from what you say, you probably are. Yes you can develop lactose intolerance. i went through the same thing. get checked out by your doctor. it could go away after a few weeks or so. Yes, you can. My husband did. My daughter was fine with dairy when she was little, but in her early teens she started becoming lactose intolerant. Soon there were other things she could no longer eat - took about a year and a half to figure out she has Celiac Disease. Not saying that's what you have, but be on the look-out for symptoms after eating gluten - feeling bloated or gassy, stomach cramps, queasy - different people will have different reactions. |
