Is there any cure for lactose intolerance?

just developed lactose intolerance 2 years ago, i have lactase pills which help me when eating chocolate or cream but is there any permanent solution to this problem? anybody with any experience? thank u :)

yeah@!,
STOP EATING LACTOSE BASED PRODUCTS!!
--this never fails..

don't u think so??

Yes, it could have a cure; diet is the most important improving factor.

check to see if you are also gluten intolerant. Often times when a person cuts out gluten from their diet their lactose intolerance clears up.

Good luck!

There is no cure. A child may outgrow symptoms. Avoid all products with milk instead use soy products. You can be allergy tested. good luck

there is no "cure" for it since your body has quit making the enzyme that breaks down this "milk sugar".

You can slowly build up a tolerance to diegesting dairy, but you need to keep with it. Start out very small. Like a slice or pizza or a tiny glass of milk. Then see if you have a reaction. If you don't, keep eating or drinking that much daily for a week and then slowly increase that amount. It takes time and almost a daily "exposure" to keep your "tolerance".

The other thing if you are female is that sometimes pregnancy "jump starts" the enzyme production. This is what has happened to me. But I don't know if it continues, or how long it will continues. (I have three kids and my youngest if still nursing.)

best of luck.

Yes! Go to a store and pick up Lactase! This is the enzyme your body is lacking! Take it and you will have no problem! I also recommend a general digestive enzyme formula and a non dairy probiotic formula. Hope this helps!
