Could these be symptoms of lactose intolerance or could it be another disorder (see details)?

Alright - I'm a 13 yr old girl and I get diarrhea maybe one out of every 3 or 4 days. It seems to be worsening over time, but the thing is I went to the doctor about it and she thought it was related to stress because I used to get it once or twice a week a swim practice. Well, I'm not stressed over anything right now - I'm sure of that, and it seems to be getting worse. I ate cheese last week and nothing out of the ordinary happened so is there a type of lactose intolerance that only reactes to certain things? Or could it be something like I hadn't eaten anything dairy for a while so I hade produced enought lactate to digest it w/o trouble? All answer are appreciated!

By the way - after I spend about 30 minutes in the bathroom, the problem is resolved. So, it goes away quickly after I get it out of my system. I don't know if that was important...

not enough info, really. Could be several things, crohns dz, ulcerative colitis. Have you taken antibiotics for something? Could be cdiff. If not related to dairy intake, within 2-12 hours or so, lactose intolerance is not a likely diagnosis. Stress?!?, every 3-4 days? doubt that for sure. Been camping? could be giardia.... diagnosis is everything. Celiac dz also in the differential, does it come after wheat products? Switch docs, or ask your for a referral to a GI specialist.
