Is the protein in the milk still digested if I have lactose intolerance?

I just started bodybuilding. As we all know, this activity needs a lot of protein. However, I've got lactose intolerance and I still want to consume milk though. If I get diarrhea after drinking milk, is the protein inside the milk still fully digested or flushed out together with the lactose?

Yes, because lactose is a sugar. However, depending on your level of intolerance, you might prefer to get your protein from somewhere else. Soy milk is pretty good, or you may be able to tolerate cheese, yogurt, or other dairy products that are not as high in lactose.
