I AM SUFFERING FROM VERY CUTE COUGH FROM 14 DAYS.IN MY SPUTUM EXAMINATION,IT IS WRITTEN THAT, VISUAL APPEARANCE IS 'M'(MUCOPURULENT) & RESULT WAS NEGATIVE. THE TEST MAINLY DONE FOR TUBERCULOSIS. I WANT TO KNOW THE MEANING OF MUCOPURULENT AND EFFECT OF THIS.

the word u noted that means the exudation(comeout) of puscells with mucous(sputum).It may due to some other infections.Ask your physician.

Mucopurulent means that the sputum contains mucus and some pus cells. it just indicates that you are having a mild infection, there's nothing to worry.
