If SUGAR in URINE is normal, does it mean normal in BLOOD too?

i am frequently checking sugar in urine by test strips and it shows sugar level normal, creatine level normal and protein level normal. is it necessary to test the level in laboratory? or is is sufficient to keep my sugar level in this way?

If your urine test is say normal then there is no sugar spilling over in our urine and then you ok. It is a good idea though to see your doctor every four to six months to have them do lab work just to stay on the safe side.

Sugar in the urine is not normal. If you are not showing sugar in your urine, that doesn't necessarily mean that your blood sugar is ok, however. You need to get a glucose meter to check, and use it according to the directions. You can get a good, plain-vanilla meter at most drugstores for about $20.

ok. let me see how to explain this. I am a lab tech so i know this. If your BLOOD sugar is to high then it will cause your body to start trying to get rid of it through your kidneys which will make a positive URINE sugar. If this happens it is bad. Your body is having trouble getting rid of the sugar. You would most likely have blood sugar problems like diabetes or hyperglycemia. If you know that you have high blood sugar problems and are trying to keep it in check you need to regularly check your BLOOD sugar level. The urine level is not what you are looking for.

Urine tests are useful, but they don't eliminate the need for lab work.
