Painful lumps on my neck, pls help?

l have a tiny lump in the front of my neck. lts been there for the past 4 years, as at last year, its started increasing and still painless. l went to my doctor, he checked it and said its nothing to worry about. l so went to a laboratory centre to see if l can get a test done, the lab tech checked it and told me to remove my mind from there, thats its an innocent growth.
My problem now is that, since past 3days now, it has started to pain me and giving me slight headache and discomfort on my throat. pls what do you think???

am not reading having sore throat, but headache, itching there, and a feeling of discomfort on my throat, especially when swallowing, it seems what i swallowed is coming back to me mouth, not really paining me when swallowing. pls more views.

I would recommend getting another opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor that you currently saw.

Also, a consultation with an ear, nose, and throat doctor (doctors that treat diseases, and disorders of the ear, nose, and throat) could be helpful in this situation to see what they think is going on.

I suggest you find a doctor who is willing to do a little bit more testing. As far as the lab tech is concerned, lab techs ARE NOT (as much as some may like to think they are) ,trained qualified diagnosticians. It IS possible that your headache and sore throat are coincidental- onset of a cold. etc. with bad timing, but I've known too many cases where for whatever reason (incompetence, lack of insurance, inflated ego etc.) where the doctor was wrong. Is (s)he an oncologist? General practitioner? Family Practice physician? If they are still dismissing your complaints after you report your pain (and you really need to) or seem upset at you getting a 2nd opinion or treat you like a father dismissing a fanciful child you definitely need to find someone else. People forget that a doctor works for you, and if your not satisfied with his answer ( or lack of) you have the right to keep looking. After all, if he's wrong, it's YOUR life.

sweetheart you have a thyroid goiter. I know its painful, and I'm sorry. please see your family doctor and have him refere you to the endocrinologist for testing. I know, my appointment is coming up in a week. good luck

You should go see a different doctor and get another opinion. Sounds like it could be a thyroid problem, but I'm not a doctor.
