Help, a tiny lump on my neck?

l have a tiny lump in the front of my neck. lts been there for the past 4 years, as at last year, its started increasing and still painless. l went to my doctor, he checked it and said its nothing to worry about. l so went to a laboratory centre to see if l can get a test done, the lab tech checked it and told me to remove my mind from there, thats its an innocent growth.
My problem now is that, since past 3days now, it has started to pain me and giving me slight headache and discomfort on my throat. pls what do you think???

I must examine you , judgment on a probable diagnosis based on a brief history is not acceptable! , but anyway :

A mid-line cervical mass with fluctuation in size , guide me to the diagnosis of thyroglossal duct cyst (TGDC) and dermoid cysts .
Other differentials are thyroid nodule and laryngocele , any of the aforementioned conditions can be diagnosed with ultrasonography , but before any need for paraclinical assessments , you must be examined with an Otolaryngology specialist .
The probability of cancer is too low ( because you have this tiny mass for about 4 years ) .

Well, it was benign, but it sounds like it's not anymore. Go back to your doctor, explain how it pains you, see about having it removed.

Always get a second opinion. Find a doctor that will listen and insist, absolutely insist on a biopsy. Do it now. If it is nothing your mind will rest. If it is something then catching it quickly is key.
Also, if it is a lymph node it could just have a small infection that is easily taken care of with antibiotics.

Your doctor said "nothing to worry about"
Your lab Technician said "remove your mind"
Because your mind is there, it is now giving you headache and discomfort.

I suggest you cut the neck off

it took me almost ten years to get a docter to remove a similiar bump that all the docs said dont worry about its not causing any medical problems..the docter that removed it said that it was good that i got it out cuase it was branching out and spreading
